Kathy Castania
Kathy Castania is a Lead Facilitator in the Opening Doors Diversity Project and President of Castania Associates. She is the former Project Director and co-founder of the national Change Agent States for Diversity (CASD) project as part of the Cooperative Extension system. She retired from Cornell University after 23 years as a Senior Extension Associate with the Cornell Migrant Program in the Department of Human Development.
Ms.Castania has facilitated diversity workshops at both the National and State levels. She is the author of a series of articles on diversity and published a “training of trainers” curriculum for Opening Doors workshops in 2003. She has been training apprentices in the facilitation of this model for 10 years and is currently implementing the curriculum with a team of new facilitators at North Carolina State University. For 12 years she served as the Multicultural Education Coordinator for NYS Migrant Education Program and has 16 years of experience in community development.
Ms. Castania holds a Bachelor’s in Education and a Master’s in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University.
